It is with a heavy heart that we must report, Waylon has been located and is deceased. While information is still pending, It seems that he was deceased around the time he disappeared. No foul play is expected.
We thank the Pekin Police Department, Tazewell County Sheriff's Office and the Illinois State Police for looking for Waylon to bring him home.
We will not be sharing additional information in Waylon's story.
Waylon, I love you and I miss you. Even though your body wasn't found until May 22nd, I know in my heart you passed on May 18th, 2021. That was the last day I heard from you and the last day you were seen alive. I can imagine your brightly burning spirit lighting the way for the rest of us. Shine on.
Waylon, today your family celebrates what would have been your 42nd birthday. You didn't make it, but we are present, sending you never ending love. May God bless and keep you.
Every day I miss you Waylon. But I am so grateful you were found. Not knowing would have been worse.
You are loved, and you are missed. May God help you safely return.
