Unsolved Murder
On Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at approximately 10:40 p.m., Thomas D. Moore, an O'Fallon, IL resident, was found shot to death in the roadway in the 5700 Block of Portland Place in Washington Park, Illinois. Two black males were observed fleeing the scene in Moore's vehicle, which was found burned a short time later in Washington Park.

OBITUARY
Thomas David Moore, beloved son, father, and friend was taken from us too early and went home to the Lord on Wednesday, June 30, 2010.
David was born April 22, 1988 in Aurora, Colo. He grew up in a military family and lived in Colorado, Massachusetts, Virginia, Ohio, Florida and Texas, before O'Fallon, Ill. He attended Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville, Ill., and was a certified phlebotomist, working towards his Associates degree and later transfer to a 4-year institution. He also worked as a security officer for Securitas at Ameren.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Retired Lt. Gen. Joseph H. and Virl L. Moore; maternal great-grandparents, J. Nelson and Beverly K. Ball; maternal grandfather, Retired Maj. Gen. Joseph D. Moore; and paternal grandfather, Joseph A. Malec Sr.
Surviving are his father and mother: Col. William Malec and Elizabeth Moore-Malec of O'Fallon, Ill.; son, Landon Michael Moore and Landon's mother, Kaci Spires; little sister, Heather Moore-Malec; maternal great-grandmother, Heide Moore of San Antonio, Texas; maternal grandmother, Beverly Moore of Niceville, Fla.; paternal grandmother: Margery Malec of Union City, Pa.; great-uncle, J.
