Naomi Irion, 18, March 12, 2022, Fernley, Nevada



Naomi was last seen near her vehicle on March 12, 2022 at a Wal-Mart parking lot. She was at Wal-Mart about 5:00 a.m. before heading to work. She always parked there to take an employee bus to her job at a Panasonic factory. She was reported missing the next day by her brother whom Naomi lived with after she did not return home from work.


Her vehicle was found March 15, 2022 near the Wal-Mart, abandoned. Naomi was missing, and for four days, Naomi's mother, family and loved ones would not know her fate.


The FBI confirmed that Naomi was abducted. A video of the parking lot showed a man wearing jeans and a gray, hooded sweatshirt, walking from a nearby homeless camp into the Walmart parking lot. The man pushed his way into her vehicle with Naomi in the passenger seat, and drove off.




SUSPECT KILLER

Forty-one-year-old Troy Driver was charged in Naomi's disappearance and death. He was charged with First-Degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon, First-Degree kidnapping, robbery, burglary of a motor vehicle and destroying evidence, . Driver disposed of the tires on his truck and destroyed her phone among other evidence.


It is believed that Driver entered Naoimi's 1992 Mercury Sable in the parking lot in Fernley, abducting her and stealing the vehicle. shot Naomi in Churchill County, with the intent of abducting her to commit a sexual assault and murder.


Driver was previously charged in California when he was 17 in accessory to a murder of a 19 year old, including other charges of robbery, burglary and use of a firearm


Driver was brought in to police. He did not have Naomi with him. Naomi was still missing.



NAOMI IRION LOCATED

Naomi was found buried in Washoe County, Nevada.

Autopsy showed that Naomi's cause of death was several gunshots to her head and chest.


The family and community put together a celebration of life for Naomi


Naomi's family dedicated the Naomi Irion Memorial Scholarship Fund in her honor by 'inspiring other Foreign Service Youth to spread love and kindness.'
