July 28, 2012 Kortne Stouffer made plans with her family to attend the Lebanon Area Fair the next day. She had recent issues with her downstairs neighbors, and on this night that tension came to a head. Her boyfriend Brad Herr at the time was living with her and was ordered by the court not to drink while he was on house arrest.

They had been drinking all day and part of their night included the bars. Kortne was feisty when she drank too much and this night that side came forward. It is reported that Brad was caught drinking and went to jail. Kortne’s friend Cody was one of the friends that went back to Kortne’s apartment after the bar and was there through the night and in to the morning.

About 3:00A.AM. The cops had been called multiple times that night. Kortne and her friends were out in Harrisburg and confronted with the neighbors and the police were contacted. The confrontations were heated from Kortne with the neighbors. The last time the police came out that night, no one answered the Stouffer’s or the neighbors apartment.

About 7:15 A.M. One of the friends that slept at Kortne’s house woke up and did not see Kortne. She left the residence and went to work.

Cody woke up at 7:30 A.M. and also saw that Kortne wasn’t at the residence. He left, went to the convenient store, and texted her. She never received that text.

About 7:30 A.M. Kortne’s mother went to her house because she had not met with their family for the fair. Her mother found Kortne’s dog barking, the television on and the air conditioner running. Her keys and phone were there. Kortne was gone.

Kortne’s keys were found on the floor where she always threw them. Her shoes were kicked off where she always kicked them off at. Her mother knew that if Kortne left for a walk she would have taken the dog with her. Something was wrong.

Two years later, one of Kortne’s friends told her father that her body was thrown in to Memorial Lake about 12 miles from the residence. Investigators searched the lake with negative results.

One of Kortne’s friends has said that she believes the people that took Kortne did so for money and drugs. They stole Kortne’s money then killed her, rolled her up into a carpet and drove her to Memorial Lake, weighted her body down and threw her in the lake and disposed of her body. No crime scene. No evidence. No carpet. No Kortne.

A $100,000 reward is available. If you have information on Kortne’s disappearance or whereabouts please contact the Lebanon County District Attorney’s Office at 717-228-4403
