It is with an incredibly heavy heart, we must report that Jon Matthew Reed has been located and is deceased. The cause and manner of death has not yet been released. We thank the Knox County, Illinois Sheriff's Office, the Clayton County Police Department, the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, the Clayton County Coroner's Office, and all assisting agencies for doing what it took to bring Jon home to his sister and loved ones, and bring answers to them.
We thank each and every one of you for sharing awareness in Jon's disappearance. The greatest hero of Jon's is his sister, who raised him, and took care of him all of her life, who fought to get his disappearance to light, and did what she could in his life, and in his death.

Jon was last seen by his sister on October 17, 2022 about 3:45 p.m.
11/9/2022, a missing report was filed with the Knox County Sheriff's Office.
11/13/2022, an unidentified body was located in Jonesboro, Georgia.
12/30/2022 the Missing Persons Awareness Network NFP 501(c)3 were notified of Jon's disappearance.
1/5/2023 The Clayton County Georgia Police Department published a public announcement regarding the unidentified body that was located 11/13/2022 and asked for the public's assistance to identify.
On 1/5/2023 Jon's sister with the Missing Persons Awareness Network became aware of the publication and worked together to notify the authorities, our belief that the unidentified drawing from the GBI was Jon.
1/11/2023, Jon's sister was notified the identify matched Jon's, and further investigation continues.
