The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office has charged 38-year-old Thomas Dellamano for the murder of his 6-month-old daughter Clara Mae Dellamano with two counts of First-Degree Murder. The charges came two days after Clara passed away.
First responders were called to a residence in Edwardsville, Illinois on September 28, 2021 for the child who was rushed to St. Louis Children's Hospital. She died October 4, 2021 at 12:43 p.m. Her injuries were a result of a shaken baby.
Dellamano was charged two days later on 10/6/2022 and was held at the Madison County jail on a $1 Million bond, and was facing 20-60 years for each charge. Case#2021CF003149 dragged out until his jury trial in September 2022, when a jury of his peers found him guilty. On November 21, 2022, Thomas Dellamano was sentenced to 28 years, and was admitted to the Graham Correctional Center on December 1, 2022. His projected parole date is October 5, 2049, and his expected release date is October 5, 2052.
It is unknown what the circumstances at home were. Our hearts are heavy for Clara and the entire family, and pray that only the truth come to light, whatever it may be.
Clara Mae's mother and family have a Facebook group page 'Justice for Clara'. It is heartbreaking, and we have followed thru since news broke of Clara's tragic death. Our hearts are heavy, and we must all be reminded that our children are precious, and we must be aware of the dangers they may be facing. We pray for peace, for her mother, her brother and family. It will never be understood the pain and loss you feel.
Rest in peace dear Angel.
