On August 3, 2021, the Illinois State Police have arrested 23-year-old Joseph Matthew Myers, of Freeman Spur, for aggravated battery of his 1 month old infant child. The Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation, the Williamson County Sheriff's Department and the Department of Children and Family Services are a part of the investigation.
Joseph Myers has been charged with Aggravated Battery of a Child which is a Class X Felony.
The baby was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Myers is awaiting trial at the Williamson County Jail on a $100k Bond. The Jury Trial is set for January 3, 2022.
